Monument to the Battle of Muhi

Monument to the Battle of Muhi...

In Hungarian history, Tartar troops fought against the Hungarian army on 11 April 1241. The memorial park commemorates the lost Battle of Muhi. The wooden crosses standing on the artificial hill symbolise the Hungarian knights who lost their lives in the fight.

In the middle of the sepulchral mound, a patriarchal cross with a death bell can be seen. The visitors of the site can even spot a winged angel guarding the memory of the dead heroes. The interactive map by the restored monument enables them to make a virtual tour in the neighbourhood.
